Windsor and Eton, twin towns on the banks of the River Thames in Berkshire, England, are steeped in history and offer a unique blend of royal grandeur and traditional charm. Windsor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, boasts the iconic Windsor Castle, the residence of the British Monarch for nearly 1,000 years.

Windsor Castle was said to be Queen Elizabeth II's favourite residence, having called its stately halls and historic chambers her home for much of her record-breaking 70-year reign.

Windsor has been a popular wedding location for royals such as Charles & Camilla in 2005, also Harry & Megan in 2018.

Windsor's connection to Shakespeare - Shakespeare's play "The Merry Wives of Windsor" was written about the town. Legend has it Shakespeare may have stayed in a house at the end of Church Lane while performing his plays for Queen Elizabeth I in the late 1500s.

Eton, renowned for its prestigious Eton College, exudes an air of academic excellence and elegance, with its picturesque streets lined with historic buildings. Founded in 1440, 19 future prime ministers including David Cameron and Boris Johnson were educated here alongside celebrities such as actors Tom Hiddleston (Loki, Marvel) and Eddie Redmayne (Theory of Everything) and author Ian Fleming (James Bond 007). Eton has a long history of educating royalty including Prince William and Prince Harry.

Together, Windsor and Eton offer a captivating glimpse into English history and culture. From royal residence to elite college town, Windsor and Eton open a window both into England’s past and where its future leaders are shaped today.
